somewhere else next time. We spent a week there including new year and were a bit disappointed at the poor service, especially in the resturant and bars. The staff were really pleasant and helpful but management seemed non-existant and everything seemed to be going pear-shaped. The rooms (we had delux lumbungs and bungalows in our group) were clean and tidy, but a bit tatty (toilet not working in one, basin jammed in another, cupboard doors off in another etc etc). In general the place has gone downhil since our last visit 4 years ago.

Looking around the island there are a few new places that are a fraction of the price and easily comparable in quality. The Beach House (just up from the Vila Ombak) looks great, but doesn't have the gardens etc of Ombak.

If you are not paranoid about booking accom in advance, I would arrive and take a look around. Unless it is peak season, you will find most places will have space.
