have just read a book written by a Doctor who has lived and worked in 3rd world countries.Her advice exactly re taking immodium or lomitil tabs.You must get rid of the germs from the gut..Norrit tabs are o.k. are charcoal and doctors give if not sure of the poison and vets give to animals when they have eaten poison.
The most interesting !!!!! thing that she advised was a can of coke(lukewarm) with a pinch of salt in it and a squeese of lemon or lime if available.
If persistent then antibiotics are necessary.
