Day three and you know I'm thinking time as always on holiday is going way to fast!! Does anyone know why that is? Oh well. :-((
day three xmas day we both get up a little early, oh have to tell you something very funny, I snore, how do I know, well at about 4am Ketut got out of bed and put on her ear phones from her mobile phone and came back to bed. Me thinking I had done something wrong or upset her in some way. well later in the morning after breakie I asked her was everything ok are you upset with me? Ketut gave me a funny look and said no you do nothing wrong as balanese are so normaly saying. I said why did you get up early and put on the ear phones, she looked at me smiled and said because you make some not sure of the word she used, I said oh you mean snore, well I felt so bad and we both had a good laugh!! Here's me thinking I did not do that!! LOL
Like most all balanese she told me not to worry it was only a little noise and she did not want to upset me by telling me I snore, well I told Ketut that next time she should just grab my nose and that would wake me up and stop the snorring!! LOL Gee you got to love life ..
Well on with day three we had breakie as normal and my friend Augus came over to out table to have a chat, something he does with all guests at the hotel. With us it is a little different as I said before I consider him more a friend than a hotel manager, he again was thanking me for the gift I had given him on Friday after my arival, a watch he now treasures. Agus asked how things for Ketut and me were going buth of us telling him really great. After breakie and a quick refresh back in our room we head out for a little shopping, everything very quiet on the streets I guess most tourists are at their hotel getting ready for xmas dinner. We are back in our room at about 11 am for a rest and get ready for xmas dinner Ketut was packing as this afternoon, after lunch she will bew going to denpasar to take daughter to the Dr and Monday she had to work, bummer.. :-(
At about 12.15 the staff rang me in our room to say that xmas dinner is starting, they are always so good to me if I'm late!! Well hey a little quiet private time with Ketut is worth being late to dinner even if it is my first both with Ketut and first xmas in Bali!! :-))
Well you could just about blow me away, the reastuarant was great and just about the most full since the old Ocean Blue club days, (wish I could share some pics with you all both old and new) I think there are about 40 + people and the staff have the place looking great.
Oh before I go on I forget one very important part of the morning I did not tell you about. As I said in part 2 on xmas eve we had gone to the gold markets to alow me to get something nice for my darling Ketut as a xmas gift. Anyways after Ketut had her morning shower she came over to the bed and sat next to me and we are just talking, I looked at her face and asked her in the same way you would ask a child, and please not in a condasending way just fun way, I said have you been a good girl this year? Boy the look she gave me was just priceless, a little not understanding the question I guessed, anyway I asked again after explaining myself and then told her I think you might find someing under your pillow? well she pulled out her gift and yes she had picked it out so she knew what she was getting. After a kiss on my cheek she opened it and I helped her put on her new bracelet, that smile of hers just gets right into my heart no matter how many times I see it. :-) Ketut did say though she thought I would be giving her the gift at dinner, well I told her no its more of a tradition that happens before dinner and I wanted her to have it before we went to dinner so she could use it.
dinner was as I say looking great and we were almost the last people to arrive there was a couple of guys from Bali that I've heard before providing the music and just before things got into the swing of it Augus gave a little welcome speach, my got even in Bali we have to sit through the speachs!! LOL
Well Father xmas was a bloody scream he was Balanese what else? LOL small thin man dark skin with big white beard, large pillow sideways taped to his belly and over the top an open red jacket!! you just have to see the video to be able to get the full picture, I can't quite do the discription justice! The kids that work at the hotel are all there with horns and trumpets making a lot of noise and all the staff including santa Bali style are walking around all the tables shaking hands and wishing all guests a happy xmas just such a nice touch love it!! As this is all going on the bali boys are playing xmas songs starting with their version of wish you a merry xmas, including the word bintang in the words of the song, you had to be there!!
Well dinner was great a big surprise how well they had done the food, Ketut ate most everything but was not very big on the meats like the ham but did like the roast lamb and the turkey, try explaining the difference of the chook and turkey to someone that has never seen a turkey before!! Hey I'm good Ketut got a real good picture in her head of a turkey!! wel sounded like she did from what I could understand. Dinner over we went to the room to get her things and the went back to reception to call her a taxi, Ketut saying sorry she was leaving me alone but telling me that she will be back as early tomorrow after work as she can, after a long hug good bye she is leaving but tells me not to go to nightclubs late at night tonight, I guess she wants me to be safe, I asked her had she heard anything I should know about and she told me no but wants me to be carefull all the same. As I said to Ketut I'm not into night clubs that much these days so I'll be fine.
Well a little after Ketut leaving to go back to Denpasar, I feel kinda lonely all of a sudden, its like wow my Girl is gone what do I do now? Well I've been in Bali for a couple of days, and apart from shopping for xmas gifts for Ketut and her daughter I have not been shopping!! I know thats just not right while in Bali but hey I hate shopping!!
I get a driver from the hotel who will wait for me while I shop, and we head off the centro discovery down in Tuban, I can not beleve it there are people, and I mean tourist types everywhere!! I don't end up buying much I almost feel like a faliure buy hey I did tell you I'm not very good at this shopping thing I did at least find a working copy of the third season of 24 took three visits to Bali but I got it, I do like my dvd's and my collection is now getting rather large with both home bought and now Bali ones.
After I finish off I head outside to walk over the road to waterbom park as thats where my driver parked as I head down the stairs though he walked up to me telling me that he had to move the car as only people going into waterbom park could park there!! well back at the hotell I go to my romm and have a little nanna nap, now don't tell me noone else does that in Bali, because I do not believe you!! LOL
I got up about 5.30 had a shower and headed out to the stadium sports bar in Padma street as its one of my fav eating places, but as I get there I find the place closed due to renovations, feel this is a little strange as it was only been open for twelve months, I think maybe its more lack of people in Bali right now, this is a little sad to think about!! I walk away feeling sad both for them being the staff of the place and me as the food here was just so good and all the young girls and boys that worked here were so happy and great with the guests.
After a short walk I end up at the Balihai reastuarant on milasti st just up the lane from my hotel, I had a nice dinner and had a chat with a couple of the wonerfull staff there about things in Bali now and in the last month or two since the October 1 bomb!! The tell me its been very quiet and as I am one of only three people dinning tonight its easy to see that its true. I do my best to eat well and drink a few drinks to make my bill a little larger than normal and as always in Bali leave a good tip!!
I head on down the lane to Camplung Mas about ten, and on the way stop at a internet cafe to check on things back home. I have been sending text messages to Ketutdurring the evening and send one last for tonight saying good night and sweet dreams.
