In Nov 05, we self-drove around Bali for a week...the Indo Embassy in KL told me it's ok to use MY licence. The Indo rental company advised it's better to hv int'l driving licence (in case the Bali polisi decides to have a chit-chat with u)...but we were not stopped once during our trip there...
