John has a leather shop in Padma Street (used to be in Melasti) called Brown Sugar and a couple of years ago opened the restaurant in Seminyak also called Brown Sugar. The restaurant menu is similar to a lot of other restaurants - some western, some Indonesian items, the main attraction to a lot of people is John himself! He has been around for years and knows so many people (through the leather shop and before that as a bemo driver). He built the restaurant himself (his dream) but has had to battle through trying to build a business after the bombings. The address is Jl Petitenget, a bit past Living Room on the left going inland. He has a pick up service from Kuta/Legian if you phone either the restaurant (0361) 739 923 or the shop (0361) 755 436.
