We stayed at Melasti in Legian Late Nov early Dec and had no problems with hygiene, and no bali belly between the six of us. I was on rasberry leaf tablets that i got from the health section of our local chemist at home and took Imodium with us but we didn't need to use them. Breakfast was buffet and wasn't bad but would suggest any of the 4 resturants 10 mins walk to the right along the beach boardwalk would be a better choice for dinner. My favorite was Zanzibar.
Enjoy yourself and make sure you schedule plenty of rest time.
