Also if you wander down Jalan Overoi/Laksmana away from the ocean, you will discover fabulous restaurants, such as Punto and Basta - our favourite Italian and many more eateries. We always have one meal at the Living Room, but now this little Italian is our favourite - I didn't imagine that I could have the best Italian meal in an Asian country, but the food is lovely.
There is a sports bar on the same side of the road owned by an Aussie guy and the beer is always cold and you can play pool for hours.
Bodyworks is wonderful too and open until 10.00pm at night, so we have a treatment each day, especially the flower toe nails for only about $A5.00 for an hour's work on my toes or fingers......
Shopping is more limited in this area, but I do like to take a trip to St Isidor along Jalan Laksmana to have doona covers made to order from Indian sari material.
We normally take a taxi to Geneva, about 5 minutes north of the area for shopping needs.
Good luck!
