We stayed at the Puri last Feb for 4 days at the end of our trip in one of the Club Rooms. Firstly, after having stayed in villas for the remainder of our trip, we felt hemmed in by a small room and a shower which either was boiling hot or freezing cold and a toilet that didn't flush too well......maybe we had been spoilt on that trip prior to getting to the Puri with having much more space and personal service at the villas we had stayed at.
I didn't find the Puri staff personable at all and it didn't feel much different to being in any large hotel chain. I didn't have any sense of it being Balinese at all, although I do understand that the owners are Balinese.
One positive was the Mezzanine restaurant, I'm not usually in favour of hotel restaurants, but the food and service here was absolutely lovely.
Sorry to give you negative feedback, but I would not return there - large impersonal breakfast area, with vouchers to give to staff. Even the bar staff didn't interact with the guests.
The grounds are lovely, very lush and pretty.
Many people love the Puri, but I am not one of them, I am now a fan of villas, which allow us our own pool and a much higher standard of customer care in a smaller complex.
Good luck with the wedding planning, but I would think that you could find a better quality spot in Bali, compared to the Puri.
