just returned on 29th dec had a great trip stayed in Kuta felt very safe the whole time. Security guards entering department stores and all hotels my kids 21 and 18 went to night clubs and were searched every time. I think it is still a peresonal choice but i would recommend good luck. We were there for 18 nights.
