if you wanted total luxury I would try a last minute deal with Balivillas.com I met someone the other day that stayed in one of the villas and said that they would never again stay in a hotel regardless of the price (wish I had the money or the patience to wait until the last minute to get one of their deals)
Alternatively we have fould that balihotelsholiday.com to be very cheap and really good at replying to any emails. They reply personally to any queries (not a computer generated reply) and you don't pay them anything until you arrive (unlike most websites that require money up front) But they do take CC details for security and any cancellation fees which is fare enough. A friend used them recently for Bali and said that they were very accommodating that the hotels spoke highly of Adrien (the consultant)
