You will get the quality that you are prepared to pay for. There are many ways of taking short cuts that you wuill not know about until it is too late; poor zips, even poorer press studs, thin thread that allows the parts to sag when you get it home, badly dyed leather, even goat skins that stink when they get wet.
A $100 jacket that you wear only once or twice is not worth it's 'reasonable' price. A $150 one may be much better value.
