I remember when the local council who used to employ head lice inspectors, would come out to the school each year, and maybe even pre-school and check the children for head lice.
I always thought it a shame when the councils cancelled the free service.
I dont recall the inspectors used to treat the children, just send a message home to parents to attend to the problem. Maybe even effected children were banned from school for a period of time until the nits were all gone. (I am once again feeling itches in my scalp just typing about it).
