I have a great friend in Bali whom i have known for many years. Like alot of thoses whose villages are on the outer sides of bali and inland he has never attended school due to location of village and the cost of education that his family could not afford. Now at the age of 24 years old he would dearly love to know how to write more than just his name and be able to read. I have tried a few times while in bali to see if any schools can help but they all say that you must have attended primary school for them to take you. I have contacted IALF but they also are unable to help. After speaking with a few different people have come to know that it would be better for him to learn how to read and write in Indonesian first then go to english once he has his own language under control. He can speak Indonesian,Balinese and English very well but cannot read or write.
Does anyone know of anywhere in bali that he can go to learn to read and write? I am willing to pay for him to go to school or be privately tutored. Any help would be greatly appreicated !!!
