We still go out at night, but are not night club people and not late night people either come to that. We feel comfortable and staying away from crowded places, sadly, isn't hard at the moment since there are only a few crowded places!!!
If you wife still feels more comfortable at night staying in the hotel that's not so bad. You could make lunch your main meal so that you still get to sample the restaurants and then, for example, you could head to the beach and have a couple of beers or soft drinks at one of the eskies and watch the sunset and the passing parade and head home at 7 or 7.30 for your evening meal at the hotel and maybe a romantic cocktail by the pool or on your balcony. It would be a workable compromise and she may change her mind when you are there but if not so be it.
