Depends where you are staying and what is close to you but we ususally go in to Denpasar for DVDs and Kids clothes and shoes at Ramayana so we make those jobs early in the holiday and also go to get our fabric in there as well. I can't think of the name of the street but there is an area in Denpasar (just opposite the multistore market) any driver will know where you mean if you ask to be taken to Denpasar fabric area, and the whole street is fabric shops down both sides of the street. The shops ara PACKED TIGHT full of the most beautiful fabrics. If you walk past the markets from that street and to the right across the bridge there are shops over there which sell fantastic buttons and ribbons and accessories. The fabric shops also have some of these things.
If you search these posts you will find other people also get fabric closer to Kuta but I have not tried that yet.
Happy hunting - These shops as fantastic if you're into fabrics. Most are owned by Indian people who seem to know everything you need to know and don't ask me how but they know every piece of fabric and the colour/design/width etc of every roll. Just ask for help and explain what you want it for and they are more than happy to help.
