We arrived back in Melbourne on 28th Nov after 12 days in Bali and I must admit, my wife especially was very nervous about going after the last bombings.

However once we were there (with our three young children), we barely gave it another thought. Of course, we would mention it occassionally, but the overall feel there was one of quiet and a little sadness, not one of impending doom.

We didn't want to spend our holiday looking over our shoulder, and we never did; not even once.

Having said that, with our young family we were rarely out past about 7 pm, and didn't go to any night clubs.

We were also discussing the heightened warnings today, and I don't know if i would be so confident about going if we were going over the Christmas/New Year period. I guess I felt that after the last bombings, the terrorists would take some time to 'regroup', before another attack might occur. Perhaps that time has now passed?

It's all very hard to think and talk about, it all 'feels' so grey (in many ways).
All we can really do is wish you good luck in whatever you decide.
