can't think of any better than Swastika Bungalows, walk in price around $20 US p night - upper rooms are the best, large spacious & sunny , big bthrms a bit tired but clean , lovely huge concrete balconies - more like a sunny outdoor patio, with tables etc, most overlooking the pool through tropical plants .. upstairs restaurant , luvly nasi goreng delivered to your chair by the pool 10,500 rp .. it's on the main road 3 mins walk up from Hardy's , or cross over the road to the beach side and 5 mins walk to cut through by Bonsai Cafe or one of the hotels like Gazebo or Besakih to get to the beach markets and another huge lot of shops and restaurants .. great hotel for half the price or less . If you want real budget, there is another hotel/homestay next door called Wilsana (?) which had rooms for about 150-200,000 rp .. basic but clean, and guests can use Swastika's pool etc . The warung on the corner is absolutely excellent and the meals are delicious , around 10-20,000 rp
I'd stay here again anytime, in fact prob will next year ( March maybe ) .. ask any questions and I'll try to answer
There are plenty of places in the next price range , say around $30 US - Laghawa across the road is surprisingly nice with beach access and private pool, Puri Dalem across from Paradise Plaza , although a bit away from the beach , also Puri Menari in Sth Sanur etc , heaps to choose from in this range
