I had 3 very large and 4 smaller chef knifes in a suede type pouch, all individual sections then rolled and tied...they were then in a wooden box, a friend asked me to bring them back to Perth for her brother as she was going to Sydney. I packed them with everything else in my case and did mention them at Perth customs but they weren't interested, just wanted to know how much alcohol and wood we had, they didn't even want to see them. They were purchased in Dempesar, not sure where but can find out if you like, from memory cost about $500 but he says they are worth a lot more, maybe 3 or 4 times that price here. Hope this helps
