just got back yesterday...am still jet lagged....16 hour flight and knackered!!!
anyways had a brill time in Bali...Stayed at the Bali Hyatt in Sanur and went to Kuta during the day and some evenings. I have to say that if anyone goes to Sanur you must eat at MASSIOMOS the food is absolutely DIVINE!!!! the chef is Italian and he owns the restaraunt. Best food I had in Bali...also in Sanur GATEWAY TO INDIA served up a treat!
Felt for the taxi drivers...they had no business and were just sitting around on the roads waiting for customers. Apparently 30000 people cancelled their trip due to the bomb...our hotel was only 40% full!
in terms of safety there is nothing to worry about...Theres is security around and they search bags when entering hotel and at Matahari. Vehicles are also searched as they enter hotel grounds.
We went Ocean Rafting on a 3 island tour including Lembogan Island which is lovely. We did scuba diving and parasailing on the Ocean Rafting - well worth a trip. Also we went horse riding on Saba beach which was so lovely that words wont do it any justice. This can be booked with any tour operator that you see on the roads with their little stalls. We paid 35 US $ per person. Well worth it. We also spent a day going to GitGit waterfall and a natural mountain spa. We went to Lovinia but didn't think much off it at all...
Bought back loads of DVDs including my fave Lost series 1...here in the UK (i dont know about anywhere else) we still on Series 1...series 2 was not out yet....think i will have to make a trip back just for that...am so hooked!
okay thats all for now....but for anyone who is in doubt don't be...there is nothing to worry about and besides bad things can happen anywhere....we had a bombing in London on 7 July...on our underground system...we still have to get on the same underground everyday to get to work...if we sit at home and fret the terrorists win...and we lose out...so go, go and have a fantastic time!
