to the kids thing. As you know we were in Bali at a similar time to you guys and we after reading your JBR's I can see we had similar kids issues as you guys. My husband and I have been several times before without the kids and had always said when the oldest is 10 and the youngest 8 we would take them to Bali. Well I managed to talk my husband into taking them now (oldest 7 youngest 5) and although I would do it again it was certainly a different holiday. I did expect it to be different and I accept that of course it would be with two little ones but I think the youngest would have been better in a year or two. The 7 yr old was fantastic, no problems all holiday but we did get a few of those tantrams you mention from our 5 yr old. Usually around the time we wanted to go out for our evening meal (even though we tried to make them reasonably early) or when he was ask/told to get out of the pool in the afternoon to have a sleep. At home they are way past the afternoon sleep routine but we had to make them have one over there because it was too unbearable for all of us if they didn't.

Anyway glad to hear we weren't the only ones having to try reasoning with a 5 yr old without the whole resort thinking we were killing him.

Your JBR's are great, I may still get around to it but I am playing catch up at work at the moment and there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day and my energy levels are not what you'd expect after coming back from a holiday. I think I need another holiday to recover from my holiday... does anyone else feel like that when they come back from Bali? All that shopping/eating and drinking seems to catch up with you.
