Airfare waitlist ?

Hi all

Just wondering if anyone has had any experience in successfully getting airfares after being put on waitlist?

I had seats (or so I thought they were booked and all we had to do is pay by 10/12/05) now the travel agent says we don't have the seats as Garuda cancelled our seats because we didn't make a deposit. At no stage were we told we had to pay a deposit just payment in full on the 10th
I'm not at all happy as you could imagine,
