First Visit Any advise welcomed

Hi 7nght visit, flight booked from 8th.Feb. but thats all, any advice as to location and recommended hotels, also URL's of other good sites.
We are a party of two couples, geting on in years but not infirm, like to get out and about as opposed to sitting on the beach!!!!
