I vaguely remember a mutual friend of ours saying his Sim Card would still be valid at the time you were leaving.I'll check it out & remind him to bring it with him.
We usually go to Matahari's or the phone shop opposite Mamma's German restaurant ( very helpful) for our Sim Cards but from what others are saying SuperNova is also good & I think that may be just as easy for you to walk to from where you are staying.Alternatively see what phone places you can find in Centro.Also earlier in the year when I was looking around for Helen - the staff in the phone shop on Jalan Pantai Kuta, past Jalan Legian & Bemo corner ,on the northern side of the street were great.I think the shop is a few doors past a shop that sells wall & floor tiles. & almost opposite the BCA bank.
BTW - we found the staff at the phone shop down the side of the Bintang supermarket not at all helpful ,although I expect you would not be heading down that far.
