Firstly HAPPY BIRTHDAY for tomorrow!!
I had my first trip to beautiful bali at the end of Sep, start of oct with 4 of my friends, we had an awesome time and met heaps of fantastic people!!.
so because i've only been once, i'm definatly no expert but here are A few things that might be handy......
* Drink heaps of water (bottled)if u get dehydrated you will feel crappy for a few days!
*All the balinese people will be soooo happy to see you, make heaps of friends, get photo's taken with as many as you can, and give them a copy!! they love it!!
* If you have any nail polish or makeup, take it and give it to some balinese ladies who do your nails.
* When u arrive at the airport and go to collect your luggage there will be heaps of men standing around and they will try to INSIST on carrying your bags.. be polite but strong and say no! (we thought they were helping us find our luggage but they wernt) they asked us for tips in aussie dollars.
* Eat away from your motel as much as possible.. Heaps cheeper and more variety!!
* Don't start bartering for things unless u intend to buy..
* On your first day don't let any one "paint your nails" or "braid your hair" unless you have agreed on your price befor! (we stupidly got ripped off big time as we honestly didn't know how to go about it and we didn't want to be rude!)
