Stayed at the Kubu 12 years ago when we found it by accident really. Loved it, and the Japanese bonsai gardens, and wonderful white sculptures. Went back every year for awhile, and had a pet carp I named George in the pool by the restaurant. I swear he recognized me from year to year. (sounds mad I know, but my hubby will back me up, much to his amazement and amusement.) The one year he was missing, and when I asked the staff about him, they made motions of eating him. Well, couldn't eat fish there ever again. LOL. Anyway wonderful place to stay. Love the Tjampuhan as well, but gets a bit crowded sometimes. We really like the Ulun Ubud too, nothing beats the views from the verandahs overlooking the valley and rice paddies in the early morning mist, with the rice farmers, and duck herders going about their day.
Oh well this time next week will be back there. Wonderful!!
