My partner is a surfer and we were just on Nusa Lembongan in September. He eldest son and two mates were also there, just having come back from a boat trip to Sumbawa. There are three main surf spots on Lembongan. Playgrounds which is the nicest, easiest break. Then Lacerations, so named because of how you look if you do a Bali Kiss on the reef, and Shipwrecks also named because of the wrecked ship that's rusting away on the nearby reef. Playgrounds would be your best best. All need pretty good paddling skills to get out to. You can also see Nicky (on the main beach of the village of Jungut Batu) who owns the boat Sea Star. He'll take you to the breaks and sit and wait for you. Also ask him to take you to Secret Spot on Ceningen if you are a decent surfer. Should cost you about 200,000 for a couple of hours. Nicky can also take you snorkelling.
