We never chucked and you can get a driver for around 300,000. The views are spectacular- you see anything and everything Bali has to offer. I've done it in 3 to 4 hours and it's well worth it. We went via Ubud and on return via Kintimani (Volcano and stuff) which took 5 to 6 hours. Don't make it a day trip- stay at least a coupla days in Lovina and there's always the option to head east from Lovina to Amed and stay there and then travel down the east coast through Candi Desa- another good trip.
