I was in Bali from 21st sep to 4th oct with four of my friends (and LOVED it!!) and we all took cash passports, we had no trouble with them, mainly because we didn't want to have to worry about getting money exchanged etc.(probably lazy of us but oh well!!) The ATM you use has to be a VISA one, and they have a fee for every transaction you make, i always withdrew the maximum limit the ATM would let me (usually 2,000,000)so as not to rack up heaps of fees.
