This is my first jbr even though I have been to bali 5 times. I got so much information from this site that i would like to be able to give back a bit.
FLIGHT: Left Brisbane on Sunday 25th September flying AP no hassle going through custom. This is the first time we have flown with AP and i was very impressed we had great seats up the front 5AC and DEF coming home very similar. Food was pretty good as far as airline food goes kids loved the ice-cream and timtams. Staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble.
VOA: was terrible we were in line for about 1hr and half, with a flight in front of us and about 3 flights after us we were glad that we were not on that last flight. They just didnt have enough staff on and it was so hot waiting but hey it is bali. We paid in us but plenty of aussies paying in aus, so i dont think it matters, i, however had the right amount for our family so i didnt need to worry about change and i always do it this way. Fianlly out of there all our bags were waiting, said no to porters and went out to find our driver nyoman waiting it was great to be in our 2nd home.
ACCOMMMODATION; Stayed at the kumala pantai at legian as we always do. Had the presidential suite for 4 days then we moved to top floor of B block into two dulux rooms. I have to say it was a little disappointing in these rooms after the pres. suite. Kids (3) teenagers were a bit cramped and complaining about brother smoring and keeping every one awake. Next time if they come i will consider a villa. Staff were great and if we had any problems they were fix quickly eg. air cond. not cold enough etc. This hotel is in a great beach front location with good eateries nearby, and not too big. Pool area is lovely first week was hard to get a sunbed as hotel was 100% but last week only 65%, you had choice of beds. Breakfast pretty good as included in rate, fruit eggs any way, but after 22 days it does get a bit boring.
RESTAURANTS; Zanzibar a great favourite of ours the best frozen strawberry dacquiris(we have the receipe), great food and atmosphere right on the beach near KP it is a little more expensive but worth it. Also Lani and Tekor all around here.
Tommys in rum jungle road is a must for healthy cornbeef and salad rolls the best, as everyting is fresly made you do need to be a little patient as they take time to prepare.
Wayan and friends in Jalan Padma also great for lunch and dinner and very reasonable.
Legends not too bad
Koris in Poppies 2 is a must, I had lobster mornay it just melted in your mouth the atmosphere here is fantastic let alone the food.
tjs mexican is in poppies 2 and much better than poco loco that is just my opinion.
Will f0llow up with shopping and more adventures we had but i really need to do some housework. Life sucks being back to reality
