other destinations for a holiday are now relevant when you have a family to consider.
Like many, I was due to fly to Bali for a family holiday just 48hrs after the recent bombingS. Like many, I changed our holiday destination.
Realising that we would now not have the "relaxed" holiday that we wanted if we went to Bali & knowing that if I travelled to Bali with my current knowledge and something happenned to my children, I may as well shoot myself now, I decided on Penang instead. I knew that the Bali we have frequented so many times previously will suffer and possibly never recover because we and so many others had changed their plans. Safety of our family though, is paramount.
If you want applause and recognition for your or your family's decision to travel to Bali in view of the recent happennings, then this is the place to receive it. Please though, do not make statements such as "it is like selling out your friends" or "..I cannot help feeling disappointed at people talking about other destinations..."
We all have the right to make our own decisions. Please do not make judgements of others. To be reading/participating on this forum alone, surely is acknolegement of ones great adoration for Bali.
PS. "Great place to go. Why not?", you say. Try telling that to those who will forever be emotionally, physically or psychologically traumatised as a result of recent or past bombings.
