we stayed at the parkroyal this june - we did go for a walk through the holiday inn. We werent very impressed. As far as a hotel goes the parkroyal is fantastic - the rooms were really big - we had 2 qs beds (family room) sea view - beautiful. Great food in the hotel and I have to say the quality of food in malaysia in general was fantastic. The beaches though were really disappointing - we went to langkawi as well. It is a very different holiday to bali. Any questions feel free to post a message to me
