Day5: Went to Centro today and bought some great cakes at the bakery and then ate waffles from A & W , very nice but also very big, suit 2 people. Tried an Internet cafe, but found the computers very slow, so didnt stay on very long.
Visit the Kuta Art Market, for some watches, sarongs and sunnies all around 30,000 each. Went to Nagasari for dinner, had great pizza and onion rings to die for yuumy, Then back to hotel to listen to band and drinks before bed.
Day 6: Took taxi to Sanur from Kuta 50,000 and found Tootsie's on the beach, great little shop for fixed price items. Thongs were 20,000, watches 35,000 and a king size quilt for 200,000. Had a delicious lunch at Mango Bar and Resturant on the sanur beachfront. Lunch for 2 with drinks costing 70,000. Toilets clean.
Started Packing away the gifts for home and have filled 2 cases already, oh boy!!
Dinner at Jesens was mexican food and drinks for 90,000, also clean toilets here. Relaxed watching movies before bed.
Day 7: After Breakfast was heading off for more shopping, and the men were staying in room to watch Bathurst, but they stopped the coverage after 2 hours so they joined us.Went to Jalan 66, most shops were closed due to another religous holiday, so we headed to the beach for a walk.
Had a drink at the Melasti Beach Resort and got Happy hour prices due to lack of customers, buy 2 drinks and get 1 free, lovely resort.
Then went to Joni's Bar and Grill for lunch, hubby had nasi goreng and I had nachos and drinks each for 60,000rp, clean toilets and if you wanted a swim you could do so.
Then back to Debbies for more rip curl gear, watches and handbags, all fixed prices.Back to room for a swim and rest before dinner at Bali Bagia in Kuta. Only average meals, cocktails happy hour from 5-8pm.
Day 8: After Breakfast walked to Secret Garden and booked to get hair straightened. Cold beer at Indo National then lunch at TJ's in poppies 1. We had 3 mexican entrees and drinks for 90,000. Had nail manicured across the road from hotel for 20,000, did a very good job.
Dinner at Jesens costing 100,000 for 2 people, had some lovely bruschetta.
Day 9: French toast and coffee for breakfast, then a taxi to Geneva,purchased beaded bracelets, key rings, sarongs for 30,000rp and thongs for 15,000rp.
Lunch as the Oasis, which is turning out to be one of our favourites, satay sticks and tomato and onion salad, drinks for 2 90,000.
Walked down poppies lane1 and bought bingang singlets size one for a baby. Popped in to say hello to sammi and suzi and quite a crowd of aussie forumites. Then to the Indo National for dinner costing 70,000 for drinks, entree and dinner for 2.
Day 10: Appointment at Secret Garden at 10am, only 45 mins late as I couldnt find it on my own straight away, hubby will laugh at that one. Cost of straightening is 400,000 rp(well worth it) and last for 6 months. Was washed twice, and straightened twice and 4 hours later I have straight hair. Will certainly do it again on next trip, air conditioned salon too, might get the full treatment with facial and manicure next time.
Lunch at Oasis, which for me is 2pm, and had a delicious chef salad, hubby had a ceasear salad and four drinks, costing 125,000 for complete meal and drinks for 2
Back to the pool, and sat it shallow end as I cant get the hair wet for 4 days.
Dinner also at Oasis, Mushroom soup, garlic bread, eye filletand drinks for 2, 110,000rp and very nice meal. a few more cds from across the road from the Oasis then back to relax and watch movies with a cold bintang.
Day 11 Completed packing and visited the Galleria for some last minute odds and ends. Tim Tam biscuit gift packs, and various weird lollies for kids. We planned to sit in the pool and drink till 6 pm checkout, but noway did that happen. About 3pm hubby suggest we got to The Pub for a drink, so we did and then somehow the conversation got round to tatoos and well......... why not. So we both got one, mine is a small butterfly on my ankle and hubby got a memorial to his dad on his arm. Cost was 400,000 rp each and not very painful at all to do, this was our first one, but all is good so far and foot hasn't dropped of yet.
Running out of rupiah now, so collect the luggage and head to airport. Got through Bali customs quickly and boarded our return flight to Melbourne. Watched the movies on board and once again was fed well with drinks and food, and had a double seat, so was a comfortable flight home.
