I would ring a hearing aid shop here in Aust and find out how they take the moulds here.
For my husband they sprayed a pink like gel into his ear and waited for it to go hard. They then removed it (after about 10mins) and it was in the shape of his ear canal. No pain just a cold feeling. Can't tell you much more than that. His hearing aid is about the size of 2 peas and sits just inside his ear. I am sure that the mould system would be the same anywhere because they just need to know what size to make the aid to sit comfortably in the ear.
