Happy to hear from another walker. I find your post very encouraging as I too have found I see everything so much differently on foot. You get to interact with the people and countryside rather than be encapsulated in transportation cartridges. My fondest plan is to get in the environs of Uluwatu just before first light and see it through the eyes of the ancients. My favorite walk so far is on the island of Maui in the Iao Valley. It involves hopping a fence and walking forever. I was wondering if I would offend local sensibilities because of the status of Uluwatu. Any thoughts concerning this? Thank you for your post.
