Visited my in laws staying at the Mandira but haven't stayed there myself. Pool area has a large lawned area next to it with palm trees for shade. Add the sea breeze and you have a perfect spot to laze in. Their deluxe room was a bit pokey though. Their only complaint was the feral child with a BB gun - he'd fire at their window and hit my son in the leg.
We stayed at the AKK in Sept 05. Brekkie was delicious smorgasbord with unlimited cappucinos/lattes etc. and nice ones at that. There are 2 pools with only umbrellas for shade, it was never a problem getting one though. There were more Japanese than caucasians so the place was fairly quiet. Only saw 3 child guests in the week we were there. As we were 3 mothers on leave this suited us down to the ground!!!
