We left Brisbane 10am Sunday and departed the following Sunday at 1am. When we filled out our cards we put down 7 days - as it is only seven days. We paid our US $10 but in Aussie $ and no one questioned us at all. I was even a bit afraid when we departed what would happen but they are collected before you board so as you are there two hours early you are still on your seventh day.
