DAY 3
Still Ubud.
Had brekky. Very hot already approx 7:30.Kara Bannana pancakes.Whole banana wrapped with coconut & syrup very good.Mangostein got to love it.Vegemite,brang jar from home,4 yr old a must.Devastated on holidays,need sleep in!
Went into ubud to change $. Rate 7900 today.Spent abit of time looking around. Find with the kids the shop owners always hit the kids up 'you look beautiful in this',yep,don't think so gold crown,not for us.
Had decided we wanted to go to elephant park today (taro).Found driver along monkey forest rd.cost 100,000.Would go for whole package (ring park)instead of getting driver along the way.Only because we paid over 1 million(will find receipt if anyone wants exact costs)& did not receive lunch in cost which should have been,our own fault though.
Can not fault elephant park.Unreal from start to finish.Elephant show,soccor,basketball,painting.Also abit of a shower at end of show,moved but not quick enough.Ella was soked but stoked they thought she needed a drink she said. Then the elephant ride.Unreal we all loved it,.so great for ages 4 -60.Our elephant was named Daisy,she went off! They thought it was real funny an elephant named Nicky. One of the best looking i thought! Heaps of photos later back 2 tegal sari.
Back to pool.swam for a few hrs.
1 funny thing, Mum not very sure of much yet, went to reception & asked if we could have 2 bowls of chips.15 min later,someone came to our room & asked if they could fix our toilet,umm yeah but there is nothing wrong with the toilet. oh ok.realised mum back at reception,'your toilet ok? Yeah but! French fries 10 min later.
Mernies tonight for dinner with Jo, Dee & Ella. Very impressed.great food. Thought where are we going as gift shop at front,walk through & many levels.restaurant actually on river.really nice.Staff very friendly which I think makes the place,not stand offish at all.Would recommend definetly.Also lift home included.Toilet very good.1 thing about the toilets in bali they(mostly) have hand towels, not good to many germs.Took over aquim from chemist in aus.Used this all the time.
1 thing my daughter ella by this time a 4 yr old blond hair blue eyed little grom was so used to getting attention that she was actually devasted that this night no one had said she was cute & promptly said.
Day 4
Quick swim, very sad,leaving Tegal Sari today.Would recommend TS to anyone.thoughout our stay in Bali this was one of the best hotels we stayed at.The friendliness of staff,the rooms,food everything.Do not hesitate to stay.Nothing is a problem.
Off to lunch at 3 monkeys.in monkey forest rd.Very nice again.you can sit out back amongst rice paddies watch the ducks with nice breeze.toilet-excellent,very modern,clean.
To Villa Kerti Yasa today.TS dropped us off.It is located behind The monkey forrest.
We had booked through watif at last minute due to missed flight we needed further accom in ubud.The photos look unreal on website.not true on arrival.Our villa(not a villa 2 rooms joined,upstairs down) was old chips everywhere,ie tiles.not much else there.small fridge which had a fanta & g&t from last guests. Upstairs not much better.this place has so much potential.outside bathrooms.pool chips throughout.ella cut her feet up.breakfast was good free transport ubud area.staff coundn't do more for u.would be good for adults no kids looking for budget accom.walk in price I think would be a lot different.I think only just getting there stuff organised.great position though 5 min walk through back of monkey forrest.
Abit of shopping, sarongs 15 000.
Dinner was at lotus lane.We had table at front cushions all around.Great for kids who get abit sleepy.Complimentry brushetta on arrival & welcome drink.Excellent food.drink knocked over 1st of many, not a problem.Toilet ok hand towel thing again.Bintang very cold.
Day 5
Monkey forrest today.Walked in back,as hotel very close.Kara & Ella freaked out straight away.ok after awhile.The deer at the back of forrest look terrible.just in a dirt penned area.very sad.
Kara & I went went for massage at Verona Spa.Good! Double room.cost 60 000 1 hr.Then off to Ubud markets for some serious shopping. A few little kids dresses 25,000.
Skirts long 30 000.tops ¾ 30 000.Found upstairs where less people go cheaper.Abit of a maze though.
