The gong is a darkish metal with a black centre part you are supposed to hit to make the best sound. Comes with its own donger?? Don't know what else to call it. They had many different sizes that made different noises. My husband chose the second smallest which was approx 22 -25 cm in diameter and has a cord attached to the top so you can hang it. They had others gongs set into metal or wooden holders but that would have made it more difficult to transport back.
