as a travel agency specialising in Bali we had a busy week last week. Fortunately all our clients in bali at the time were ok and most opted to continue their holidays. Of the 31 people we had booked on the sunday flight only two cancelled. Last week we mainly dealt with people travelling within the next 3 to 4 weeks who were naturally concerned. I'd say nearly half of the people departing over the next 4 weeks are travelling as normal. Some are still going but have changed their hotels in bali to somewhere they are more comfortable with. A few bookings we managed to change destinations to Penang or Phuket, we probably could have changed more but it is school holidays and these places were already heavily booked. Some have deferred and some have cancelled. From mid November onwards most are still travelling or are undecided and waiting, some have changed destination, only a couple have cancelled.

From the day after the bombing we have had a number of e-mail enquiries along the line of "not letting the b@stards win" how much to go in the next few weeks. Today we have acutally been busier with new enquiries than the week prior to the bombing, I've also made a few new bookings today one of which was a family originally going tomorrow, cancelled friday and re-booked today for december. On talking to the wholesalers we book through it's not just us but they are getting enquiries and bookings from many agents today.

Early days yet but it is certainly encouraging to see the resilience of bali and bali travellers
