I have just returned from Bali after 11 great days enjoying Bali Life - we returned 29th Sept, & was so, so sad to hear what happened. As always we ate in Raja's & I bought clothes from the Roxy shop opposite. I have been to Bali about 10 times, & my friends I travel with about 14 times, we caught up with our bali friends & gave them extra money or bought things off them - I only wish now I had given more!!!!!! On my friends 1st trip to Bali in about 1997, the husband went & organised a driver - this driver was a nightmare - played his music loudly & wouldn't turn it down, he took them to all "his friends shops" & expected them to buy things, & sped, so much that my friends daughter aged 3 vomited from car sickness - The next day my friend went out to find a driver - & she found Ketut (we know him as Ketut but he now goes under the name Anom) She said he was dressed very nicely, spoke quietly & thats why she arranged him. 8 years later he is still our driver, & our friend. He is such a lovely man, a very good & safe driver, always asking if we are o.k. on our trips. He is very intelligent, well read & speaks excellent english. In past years on trips when the adults have wanted to look in shops, the daughter then aged 6 or 7 years decided she wanted to stay in the car with Ketut & talk with him. He loves children - this year when he came to take us to the airport, he sat with us & had a coffee, but only after 2 mouthfulls, put down his cup, & said I'm going to see the kids, I miss them" the kids were having a last minute swim. We arranged to go on a trip to Gitgit - but unfortuately I was very sick & couldn't go, at lunch Ketut was worried about me & actually rang to see if I was o.k.
