Well here it is! Have finally sat down to do my JBR.Post Bali blues have me well & truly.Feels like a lifetime ago already.
We were in bali 4th sept- 25th sept.Myself, 28 yrs, Mum,58,daughters Kara 11 & Ella 4. This was my third time over.A very different experience this time with kids.But very worthwhile.Mums & girls first time.
Originally we were flying from brissy 31st August. Due to Diesel spill near Brisbane airport we missed plane.Thats another story in it self.If interested in archives sept 'missed plane'.Though I would like to thank Nicki (Nico) for everthing. Air Paradise were great & got us on Sunday 4th flight.So we went home (Yamba NSW)for 4 days.Coundn't bring myself to tell work as in holiday mode already.Devastating as Mum said as we were driving back into town'it feels like weve done something wrong,we shoundn't be here'.
Were off! Sunday 4th.Arrived Brissy airport 6:45 for our 10:00 flight.Got into line same place as Sunday. Oopps. We were in line for Fiji.No I'm not blond but did feel it!Ok now checked in, through immigration. Duty Free! Love Duty Free.1 litre JD,Cigarettes, perfume.All set.
Girls were very excited.Air Paradise was great.Food did not stop! That first Bintang! Movies were Longest yard plus a doco on bali & a simpsons episode.
Arrived Bali. Mum & girls thought we were landing on water.Off plane onto bus to terminal.Stepping off plane, the heat! Yep I was back!
Visa on arrival- nightmare,about 3 planes at same time.took 1 ½ hrs to get through.paid in aussie dollars,change in rupiah.With kids not fun,very hot.Got through bags already waiting to the side.straight outside to find our driver. Mum & kids a bit stunned as people everywhere, signs, yelling,the heat.At this stage I was on mission,found driver straight away,Rasta from Tegal Sari.
Due to missing plane had to reorginise accomadation.so ubud first.
Mum freaked out by driving but could remember someone saying to her 'enjoy the ride you will get there alive' corny but true hey.
Arrived Tegal Sari approx 5:00.Welcome drink.Booked this Hotel from recommendations. We had the garden view room just near reception.Very nice,private.With little kids would recommend this room as little yard to wander in.
Had dinner that night at tegal sari.Great food. Chicken satay was great!

DAY 2
Woke too early 6 :30. Had brekky then decided to go into Ubud approx 8:30. Tegal Sari will drop in pick-up in ubud town at anytime.15 min notice good though.Met Meredith & family from forum.Hi!
Went for walk through Ubud as places were only just opening.Down Monkey Forrest Rd & back to market.
Loved the markets.Morning price for a few things little girls butterfly sandals 25000.happy with this price.Ella (4 yr old)was traumastised by markets would not go back.When she talks of them all she can remember is the old people with yucky teeth!.Also Kara 11, & mum were a bit spun.All Kara said was this is making me sick ie chickens ,fish,the smells. Didn't think about it but this was there first day & I chucked them in straight away.Back to hotel.
After this we went to bird park.It was ok.The kids really enjoyed this.Alot off different looking birds.We were fasinated by the cassowary.It was funny really,the big attraction was the pelicians. Which we find everywhere were we live.
We has organised Tegal Sari to drop us off & pick us up. 50 000 per hr they charge.On way home our driver from TS asked if we wanted to go into celuk to look at the silver as we had him for the hr.Away we went.Mum bought necklace & bracelet for 100,000.
Back to tegal sari, time to check out the pool.We had gone for swim earlier.Pool was great.PLEASE be careful though if you have young kids as there is a huge drop off/step separating, shallow & deep side.My Ella & Jo's Ella both had a incident in same day.Quite scary & yes we watch our children.Happens very quickly.
Jo,Ella & Dee were great we ended up going out to dinner with them quite a few times.
This night we went to Dirty Duck in HANOMAN ST? a bit expensive (Bali standards ) but worth it.Restaurant is huge seems like you walk 4 ever.Toilet is great.Sorry but I can report on every toilet at every reastaurant we went to as Ella had to check them out.
I think this is enough for now, more to follow.Carrying on a bit but not as detailed as we move on as reading out if Karas Diary at moment.
