Our family including our 12 & 9 y.o were booked to go to bali in early November. It was our childrens first trip overseas.Initially when we first told them we were going to bali there first comment was about the bali bombings. We reassured them everything would be okay and they got there heads around the idea and were saving their spending money and getting quite excited. When my son woke me in the early hours of Sunday morning when he had heard the news of the latest bombings we were shocked and could not believe what had happened. We have now decided not to go to bali because once again the way the children are feeling. It has been so hard to take that hoilday away from them after convincing them everything was going to be okay. The children are heartbroken and have been asking lots of questions as to why-I don't have all the answers. But we definitely don't want our memory of our holiday to be that of worry and constantly looking over our shoulders. We are know trying to organise another trip and make the most of the childrens new passports.
