Just got back from a week on Gili Trawangan. After a few days you get to know some locals, and as "rambutmerrah" said, all those cool things to do.
Its a great place. Flying to Lombok, then taxi and boat is a good option as its quick, but otherwise if the budget is tight, the ferry is bearable but long.
