i have been an avid reader of this site for almost a year now and i finally thought it was time i made a post
i was due to go to Bali on thursday (13th oct). it was my 21st birthday and would have been my 5th trip... when i heard the news of the bombs on saturday, i was determind to still go and the phrase ' osama dont surf, terrorism wont stop me!' popped into my head, but as the news progressed, my mum and and my travel companion became nervous and was reluctant to go...
on tuesday we cancelled our bali trip and i now leaving for phuket on the 12th. however, i am unsure if it is inmature for me to say or whether i am being ungratful, but my 21st was ment to be spent in bali, all my happy memories are there, i had been counting for 213 days.... i wanted to share my day with all the beautiful people that inhibit that beautiful island. and finally phuket isnt bali.
my heart goes out to everyone of the baliness people, that have to re-live this terror and worry about wht they are going to do, they didnt need this to happen again, and i feel awful that i cant contribute to them re-building..
i really needed to apoligise to someone and hope that people understand, i am still grieving, and although i didnt know anyone injured, saturday reinforce the end of an era, this world is no longer a safe place and we are going to have to (against my will) accept terrorism as part of our live.... my poor children what sort of world are they going to be bought into.
everyone that is thinking of cancelling a trip DONT... it is now my biggist regret....
