Restaurants. Here are the ones I ate at last week. I'll add them to my restaurant list and post an update soon.

I wanted to try new places this time. Here they are.

Warung Jumbo- Gg Benasari, Kuta - Beach end. Nice little place fairly busy. Fast, friendly service. I had fishermans basket 38.000 (prawns, fish, calamari, chips, little salad). Amber had chicken schnitzel 21.000. 2 fruit shakes 8.000 each and bruschetta. All delicious.

Lemongrass Thai. Restaurant. Jl Raya Seminyak. Just after the Bintang Supermarket. We had yellow curry, another meal, 2 servings of jasmine rice, 2 lemon squash and one desert. 145.000rp ($19). Bargain! The meals were not really big but we had enough. The setting is really lovely. Sydney standard. They had 11 tables but set up 2 more as the place got busy. They had 2 couples waiting at the bar plus 4 couples turned away because they didn't want to wait. Someone booked but they didn't keep them a table. . Get there before 7.30 if you want to get in. Well worth it. I will return! The only annoying thing about this place was the amount of Europeans smoking. I know they aren't the only ones that smoke but there were a lot of Europeans and I think we were the only table of non smokers.

Khaima Moroccan Restaurant, Lounge and Bar. Jl Laksmana (Oberoi st).Kerobokan. Very nice setting. Staff very helpful and friendly. Food is delicious with wonderful spices. Not hot spicy though unless you want it. We booked and arrived at 7.30. Not many people there. Lots of tables booked though. Friday and Saturday they have Belly dancers. I would recommend not getting there before 8pm though. Belly dancers were OK. Welcome drinks are mint tea. Menu looked big but things were repeated in different sections. We had Khaima special entrée and shared it, which is a selection of different entrees. This was great. It is quite big (double the price of other entrees) at 45.000rp. We had lamb mechoui and tuna mechoui which were both delicious plus 3 lemon squash. YUM. Fresh lemon with palm sugar to sweeten. Plus 1 cappuccino. The deserts didn't tempt me. Total 236.900 including 15% tax and service. $31. In Sydney you would pay that for 1 meal like that. I'm glad the taxi driver knew it as the sign outside the restaurant is quite small. It's opposite Lotus something (Garden?).

Places I've been to before but liked.

TJ's- Poppies 1, Kuta. Mexican. We shared a guacamole dip. I had an entrée and salad, Amber had Chicken Mole. We shared wicked chocolate fudge cake. Very hard choosing which of the delicious deserts to have. All the food was great, as was the atmosphere and service. The lounge type chairs are relaxing and comfy if you don't want to sit in regular chairs. 147.000rp

Cat and Fiddle. Sanur. Irish pub. Had the chicken Pie (no where as good as the Guinness Pie which Amber had). The guys weren't feeling the best so the entertainment wasn't as good as last time. It's generally a good night though. Tuesdays the owners play a variety of songs. It has a good atmosphere.

Legian Garden (Taman Legian)- Jl Melasti, Legian. Just called in for a quick snack and to chat with staff. We have been going here since our first trip over 10 years ago and always say hi to the staff.

Treehouse. Poppies 1. Beach end. Good food, cheap, good service. Last trip I had lunch here a bit. We had a garden salad, 1 pizza, 2 choc milkshakes 44.000.

Bamboo Corner. Poppies 1. First restaurant after TJ's as you enter from Jl Legian. VERY cheap. We had avocado salad (whole avocado), 2 chicken satay, water, fruit lassi, soft drink. 37.000 Very plain setting but food is so good.

Tanaya's Tepinyaki. Jl Legian, Kuta. I had Cream of chicken soup and garlic bread, Amber had chicken sate. Choc milk, 3 mini cakes and a cappuccino. The cakes looked better than they tasted. Amber paid.

A&W. Jl Pantai? Kuta. We went twice for the waffles. YUM. Big freshly made waffle with icecream for 14.000. I don't eat many sweet things in Bali but this is a must. They DO have toilets there contrary to what I was told. There is also one in Denpasar Ramayana.
