1) Agree about writing it down for any drivers. They seem to pronounce it Gen-ay-wah, so if they have seen it written somewhere and not heard it pronounced by a tourist, there is a big difference.
2) They are closed on Sundays -which we found out the hard way.
3) Check every wooden item you buy for tiny borer holes as customs will do it too. (Look like someone has stuck a thumbtack into the wood then removed it). Bang the item against the heel of your other hand (so you don't break it) and see if dust falls too. We also got a big wooden box and put our wooden items in it and sprayed bug spray in it and closed it up overnight, in our hotel room, to be sure of not taking bugs back home (as we had bought quite a bit of wooden stuff that trip). Still had two of the wooden puppets with tiny holes not noticeable because of the painted surface confiscated -because the customs guy spotted them but I hadn't.
