Hi all,

My girlfriend and I have just gotten back from Bali about a week ago. When the bombs went off we were having dinner at a little cafe trying to pass some time before our transfer came to get us to take us to the airport. While we were far enough away to be out of harms way, we were still close enough to make you ask yourself all the obligatory what ifs?? It was the first time there for both of us and while I fully understand why some people would be a little dubios, personally, we can't wait to go back at some point next year. Although the trip ended on a sour note, the 2 weeks we had leading up to that point were absolutely amazing. The places we went to were stunning and even more importantly, the locals we met were some of the most beautiful people you could ever hope to meet. The looks on thier faces when we recieved the news of the bombings was heartbreaking as I'm sure they realised what it meant for thier immediate future.

While I can understand that its a difficult decision for people to make and everyones circumstances are different, i'd just like to say this......

To those of you who haven't been and are still unsure as to whether you are going to go ahead with your travel plans
I know that if you do decide to go you won't be disappointed. Its an amazing place that you will fall in love with almost immediately.

To those of you who have decided that the potential risk of travelling there is to great, I hope you can get there some time in the not to distant future when you feel more comfortable about the the level of safety for yourself and you loved ones.

And to those who have decided to go ahead and travel anyway....

Good on you! I hope you have an amazing time. I know the locals will appreciate your support. Take care and be safe and most of all have fun
