I have stayed there two times one of them being less than a month after the 2002 bomb and I felt very safe there...Although since being there the new Matahari has been built next door.
Maybe you would feel safer staying somewhere closer to the airport? Like Green Garden Hotel?? its meant to be really nice AND they have a fantastic Day Spa!!!
