I never used to worry about locks but now I do. I just use small padlocks or cable ties.
Personally I think the shrink wrap is overkill but others swear by it. Is that biodegradable??
A word of warning if you intend to use the wrapping at Denpasar airport.
Last week 3 young girls had their bags all wrapped then proceded to check in. Their bags were too heavy so they had to go back get it all cut off so they could distrubute the weight then get them wrapped again.
I seriously doubt that someone will break your lock off to put something in it. Having said that, the way they throw your bags around it might protect your luggage.
