Believe me, the Balinese are trying to sniff out the culprits and trying to get them out of Bali. When I was there less than 1 month after the 2002 bomb, the Balinese were telling us about MANY situations where the "Javanese" (that had not been on the island for many many years) were ganged up on, and forced to leave the island after the bombing. The Balinese DONT want them there either...they are doing their best to get rid of them. Why would the Balinese keep their mouths shut when there is a whole island of them & only a handful of "bad guys" when there could be a threat to the Balinese lifestyle etc???
By the way Im not saying the Javanese are the bad guys, many of them are lovely and many have lived in Bali for many many many years and call it their home, Im just saying what the Balinese told us.
